So it is 22:16 on the last day of 2009.
I am sat here contemplating the targets that I have set myself... one being the half marathon.
The morning of the last day of 2009 was spent at the gym. I am toning up aswell as preparing for the run. So today I did 5minutes warm up on the rower, 60 sits ups, 60 sets of heel taps, 60 sits up on my front (will find out a technical term for them) and then my balancing to ensure that my centre of gravity is, well, balanced. Then onto the treadmill. Today was 3minutes running and then 2mins walking maintained for 30minutes. I managed to do this but it was a slight struggle with getting a stitch around the 15minute mark. In total I managed 4km which is really good for me. Then onto some weights to tone up my arms, reps of 15 x 4 on the rower and then 10 x 3 reps on the rest of them.
No swimming today due to how busy the pool was.
As for food, Today I have been on track. Breakfast was fruit, cajun chicken and jacket potato for lunch and spag bol for dinner. As it is new years eve, I have had a couple of glasses of bubbly... now back on the diet coke.
I am away this weekend and we are staying in a hotel with a gym and pool so will be taking full advantage of these facilities and hopefully not drinking too much with our friends.

Photos of me through the weight loss

Me in March 2007
So here are some photos of me when I was at my biggest. I look back at these photos and I wonder Why on earth I ever let myself get this big. The fact is it was denial, I was very happy, had a wonderful life with a fab boyfriend and really didn't see anything wrong with having a takeaway every other night.

Mudge and I engagement party Nov 2007
A whole year after this is when my weight loss journey started, October 2008 when I realised how big I actually was. I almost look pregnant in the engagement party photo.
Here are some photos of me in December 2009, 3 stone lighter.

Registration for Cardiff Half Marathon
So I have just registered my self and my friend Laura to run the Cardiff Half marathon in October 2010. OMG How scary is that. I am so excited to have this challenge to work towards and am looking forward to the training it will entail although I am sure you will find me moaning about it at various times.
So any words of wisdom for this would be gratefully recieved. And yes I know that I am crazy considering at the moment I can manage about 2.5km in the gym on the runner and a half marathon is almost 20km.

I may add some more aims/goals as I go along my journey to maximise the benefit I have from using this blog.
