Hi and Breakfasts!!

Hi all. So I am currently weighing in at 15stone 12.5lbs bringing my total weight loss so far to 1stone 0.5lbs. I have done this through a combination of healthy eating and being prepared to try those things that I would never have tried before. Breakfast has been a mixture of Magic Pancakes and cooked breakfast. It is my aim to fill my plate with 1/3 of superfree food every mealtime. Here are my 2 fave breakfasts :-)
Cooked Breakfast
Bacon,
Linda Mccartney Red Onion Sausages,
Spaghetti Hoops,
Eggs,
Mushrooms and Onions.
Magic Pancakes
35g Porridge Oats,
Muller light (any flavour),
2 eggs,
Sweetner,
Any fruit to top.
  • Mix the porridge oats and muller and put in the fridge overnight.
  • Add the 2 eggs and sweetner in the morning and fry in fry light in pancake shapes. I use a pastry cutter and get about 5-6 pancakes.
  • Cut your fruit up and top the pancakes and if you want add more yogurt.
I find that the pancakes are really filling and to make them even more filling I have been putting 2 Scan Bran crushed up in them. I am hoping that I can find some more varieties for Breakfast as these are my staple at the moment. Before I did Slimming World I never ever thought that I would make the effort with breakfast every day. Ok so havign a 4month old baby around means that my breakfast time can be anytime from 8-11 but I always make sure that I do have something in the mornings. My Breakfast in school used to to be a Mars bar and then through my 20s I never really used to eat it at all. What a difference SW has made to me.

I went to fat club this week and I lost 2lb.. brilliant. I am actually quite happy with that although to get off the 3.5lb I put on the previous weekend would of been brill.
I have started off with a good ish week so far (apart from the meal out last night for my sisters birthday) and I am really trying to get lots of free and super free food in.
I am going away Saturday for the week to Bournemouth. I am going to try and keep as focussed as possible for the week and instead of eating crap I am going to try and get as much fruit and veg in as possible.
So I will have internet access but not too sure if I will have the time to blog. I am taking my running stuff with me too... I will go for lovely runs on Bournemouth Beach!!!
So will let you know how I get on xxx

Saturday, 17 April 2010

Ok so I haven't been on here for a little while. I think it has mainly been the fact that I haven't been doing so well and I am not proud of that at all. I have been maintaining or putting on, maybe followed by losing 1lb. Not so happy with the journey atm.
Last week I put on 3.5 lb which was deserved. Easter weekend we were away and I ate nothing but crap.
So Tuesday was class. I left early and I came home with the new slimming world magazine and planned for the week. I have been in uni this week and I have ate fruiut like it is going out of fashion. I have also included lots of super free food into my meals. Yesterday I made 12 mini quiches which are totally free and also a huge tub of coleslaw which is around 1/2 syn per portion (for the mayo) and will be adding this to all my melas as it has cabbage and carrots and onions in it which will all increase my weight loss this week.
Last night we went to chiquitos for dinner. I had fajitas which were lovely but this does mean I have to be very very careful about what I eat for the rest of the weekend now.
My problem area - tomorrow - Cardiff are playing in Swansea in the Semi Finals of the Swalec Cup and although I will be taking food with me, generally getting caught up in the atmosphere means having a drink. I am determined not too tomorrow though, I think not taking and money with me may be an idea. I reckon this is my biggest sabotage worry for the week.

As for training for the marathon and fitness, this is going ok. I have really stepped it up a gear this week. I know I need to keep at it and not be demotivated. I have found a machine at the gym that has an LCD that shows you how far you have run around a 400m track and this really inspires me and I try to attempt 2 laps of running followed by 1 of walking. Also they have a TV attatched so I plug me earphones in and away I run watching the News or tennis, keeps me distracted.

I have a cold atm which is leading me to want to comfort eat so any time I want chocolate I pick up a piece of fruit as much as is possible. We shall see if all this pays off this week. I will keep you updated xxxx

AWOL

AWOL - My motivation for gym and weight loss.
So plan is to forget how bad I have been over the last week. Including a 2.5lb weight gain on Tuesday at fat club and a total reluctance to go to the gym.

SUNDAY - NEW START
Today is a new day. I did a decent work out at the gym and went for a swim after, I even managed a sprint on the dreadmill. It was only for 30seconds but goodness did it make my heart race. I also did some arm weights as I want my bingo wings to disappear, I know they are not as big as they were 2 years ago but they are still there.
So plan is to eat as many super free foods as possible and keep my syns at a minimum. I need to remind myself that chocolate really doesn't taste that good and makes me feel sick. Sausage casserole for tea tonight which has garlic, peppers, onion and carrots in. All of which are free or super free food. I also need to carefully plan for work this week. There is absolutely no need for me to be eating toast in work or even spend any money in work on food, preperation is the key. I can see a lot of fruit salads and pasta salads being consumed.
I will be back on tuesday to let you know hw well I have got on at weigh in. I am not confident of a loss at all but a minimal gain would be very good.

Successful Snow Week

So the whole country ahs been whitewashed this week with snow... Not to affect me, I have a marathon to prepare for.
So exercise this week.
Monday - nothing
Tuesday - Gym for 1 hour, running machine for 30minutes then some weights and floor work.
Wednesday - Snowball fight (yes I am including this). It meant I had to make the effort to trudge through Cardiff Snow and through snowballs at my beloved other half.
Thursday - Nothing
Friday - Walked into town and managed to fall right on my backside hehe.
Saturday - Gym for 1 hour, Bike for 10 mins, X Trainer for 5, weights, floor work and the treadmill for the rest it. Then for the swim... 2 lengths in indoor pool, 10 in the outdoor pool... It was fabulous outside swimming. I loved it and may be doing it again tomorrow.
Food Wise
This week I have been relatively good with my food. Lots of free and superfree food, although I found out that lean mince is not free, only extra lean mince.
My favorite meal so far this week has been dinner this evening, peppers, onion, spring onion, chicken and carrots, all stir fried off with soy sauce. Served with dried noodles. Filling and full of very good food.
Hopefully all this exercise and free food will show of in my weigh in this week. It would mean the world to me to have a decent weight loss on Tuesday. We have a dinner dance next Saturday and would love a few pounds off before now and then.
So will let you know tomorrow if I went and swam outside again and the update you with my weight loss on Tuesday.

New Year Weekend

So we didn't really celebrate NY, just opened some bubbly early evening and then to bed for 11pm. All because we were going away for the weekend.
Saturday started well, 2 alpen bars for breakfast. Then the journey to Northampton began, with a stop at the services at which point I felt quite proud of myself for having a pot of fruit fom Marks and Spencers and not a sandwich. All a good start. Drinks were good too, all diet or water. We arrived at the hotel and checked in and I was desperate to go and see what the gym facilities were like. But didn't first bad move of the weekend. Then we went to the bar and waited for our friends to arrive and ordered a diet coke... well done me. Friends arrived, rugby was on TV had another diet coke but then started drinking half pints of cider and black. Had 4 of these and then the decision was made to go to nandos for dinner. I ordered a chicken Pitta which was really really nice but really really should of just had plain chicken. I didn't realise the spice was a sauce. Anyhow resisted dessert which is really good for me. had half a glass of wine with dinner too. So Friday started really really well, but then unfortunately as the evening went on, I watched the syns rack up.
Saturday morning came. We had arranged to meet the friends in the spa at 10 for a swim before we went out to the rugby. Brilliant plan. So gym session went
Rower - 5 minutes warm up
Floor work - 45 crunches
45 sets of ankle taps
15 secs each leg balancing
Treadmill - 2 mins walking, 3 minutes running - 35 minutes over 4k very happy
Warm down of all parts of body
Swim (well relax in pool more like it but some swimming done)
Felt very good after all this. We went to wetherspoons for food, had jacket potato, tuna mayo and salad. Very good choice considering the menu. Diet coke as my drink.
Then to the rugby, a fabulous afternoon and evening but unfortunately it included in excess of 7 pints and a chicken tikka masala, pilau rice, onion bhajis and garlic naan bread. Shouldn't of had it but was very very very hungry. Could of made a much better decision on what food to have but was really drunk.
Sunday - No sign of a hangover, thank goodness for all that water. Didn't make it to the gym didn't think it would be very sensible after yesterdays antics and AF wa visiting so couldn't swim. Back to Wetherspoons for lunch and same again rather than anything higher in fat and calories and a diet coke. Back on track, or so I thought... Drive home ok but was starving by services, Marks had nothing there so went to WHSmith and bought wotsits and chocolate. Thats fine, within my syn limit for the day. Get home, no food in... order dominos and we both eat through 3/4 medium pizza each!!! Totally off track again!!
Had a fabulous weekend with friends and the social side was amazing... just a slight problem with the food and drink. Not to be repeated for a little while as i feel this may leave me over the 13 stone mark for the first time before christmas.

Happy New Year

So it is 22:16 on the last day of 2009.
I am sat here contemplating the targets that I have set myself... one being the half marathon.
The morning of the last day of 2009 was spent at the gym. I am toning up aswell as preparing for the run. So today I did 5minutes warm up on the rower, 60 sits ups, 60 sets of heel taps, 60 sits up on my front (will find out a technical term for them) and then my balancing to ensure that my centre of gravity is, well, balanced. Then onto the treadmill. Today was 3minutes running and then 2mins walking maintained for 30minutes. I managed to do this but it was a slight struggle with getting a stitch around the 15minute mark. In total I managed 4km which is really good for me. Then onto some weights to tone up my arms, reps of 15 x 4 on the rower and then 10 x 3 reps on the rest of them.
No swimming today due to how busy the pool was.
As for food, Today I have been on track. Breakfast was fruit, cajun chicken and jacket potato for lunch and spag bol for dinner. As it is new years eve, I have had a couple of glasses of bubbly... now back on the diet coke.
I am away this weekend and we are staying in a hotel with a gym and pool so will be taking full advantage of these facilities and hopefully not drinking too much with our friends.
